Title

Commencement scrapbook.

Description

Small scrapbook with newspaper clippings from the first commencemnt program including valedictory exercises.

"At the appointed time the juniors being drawn up in due array, were confronted by Miss Flora Richardson, who discoursed them in a serious and affecting manner of the responsibilities soon to rest upon their individual and collective shoulders. She warned them that their days of frivolity were over, and presented as a symbol of their newly acquired power, responsibility and glory, in the shape of a hat, generally known as a "plug" hat, or rather more than ordinary ugliness."
