This piece is a visual representation of the message behind the statue of liberty. The statue of liberty represents equality, democracy, and freedom. As Americans we often take these values for granted as many people are left reaching for these values. The colored hands represent all the different individuals who are often left reaching for this beacon of hope and all the life they could add to our country if they are able to climb their way to the top.
