Sequential Narrative profile project

My interpretation of the bird/banana/dog prompt for an illustration project.

I had been struggling with a bad art block and decided to return to one of the subjects I had been drawing since I was a kid. I wanted to use a subject familiar to me to work on improving my skills in painting the fine details.

I created this piece originally as a background for an animation. I wanted to push and simplify the colors of a sunset as well as work in bringing depth and subtle textures to the piece.

In this piece I worked to develop a fantastical setting based around plants. I wanted to make use of my color palette to show the depth of the scene without losing the vibrancy of the colors. I also wanted to experiment with the lighting of the scene…
