The origin of this phrase comes from the 16th century idea that crocodiles wept while they consumed their prey. With this in mind. I decided to play on the idea of how beings consume and what makes a person weep when they themselves have not faced hardship. Featured in my work is an elderly crocodile who is weeping at two of her prey in a love she is not a part of on her television. She sobs uncontrollably for a fictional situation where she’s only an observer.
