While we can see the shooter's face, his bad day, his "sex addiction," and how he was always a good boy everywhere on the internet, the only impression she left to the world was "she was from China," and "she was quiet and kind." This is not fair to me. I hope people hear about her life, her caring for her family, and how hard she had to work to live independently in the U.S. here as an immigrant who didn't speak much English. She should not be invisible. Her life was meaningful. According to the only two clear photos I can find online, I carved her portrait onto a sheet of affordable plexiglass. Then printed it with flowers with roots. Specifically in China, people say “fallen leaves return to their roots.” Her pass away and ash cannot return home made her a person without root. I disagree with that. She actually carried her roots with her at wherever she was standing.
