It is defined as an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat. This photograph is part of a set of 10 that dives into how different fears can be extremely personal, but also so shared among us. The set of photographs was based on the real fears that I found shared between people in my life, who were majority women, that shared they had fears of being kidnapped, stalked and followed. This photo focuses the viewer in the position of the one doing the watching. The subject of the photo is staring directly into the camera, expression neutral, and allows the viewer to interpret this in their own way. Does the subject care that the camera is out there? Are they worried? Are they in fear? Other photographs in this set put a focus on the lack of intentions and that unknown variable of the subject and how they could bring the viewer harm, but here there is a shift to the focus of the one doing the watching.
