The collage elements allude to the chaotic thought processes of feeling unsafe in uncertain times. Although this difficult time was five years ago, and I am in a much more secure, safe environment now, the memory of the traumatic time is still fresh in my mind. I handle trauma by going to therapy but also by using humor in my art to manage the heaviness using a cartoon style and bright colors.
