Watson Library underwent a $1.6 million expansion between 1962 and 1964. As part of this project, 26,000 square feet were added to the bookstacks, providing shelving for 400,000 additional books.

The 5,000-square-foot east wing (on the left) was added as part of a $1.6 million expansion of Watson Library that took place between 1962 and 1964. The wing included new quarters for the relocated Department of Special Collections.
