Description
Although my major is aerospace engineering, art has been my passion since an early age. I have always been drawn to realism, and challenging myself to give life to a canvas - I love seeing subjects come alive through the paint. This large oil painting of Sade Adu was done in my free time, to take my mind off the hardships of my STEM classes. Sade's mix of soft and hard features made for a challenge, but a beautiful outcome. I chose her as my subject due to her beauty, elegance, and influence on contemporary music. As a Nigerian musician, she opened the doors for those who followed her and is an icon in the voices of black history.
