This painting was created during my first semester at KU. It was the first art class I had taken after four years. Challenging myself to work in bright vivid color was daunting at first but I quickly realized it became just as comfortable as anything else. I have always been obsessed with the human form and in this piece, I wanted to obfuscate the figure to parallel my intense confusion surrounding identity at the time.
