Street, you will find many bright red metal boxes holding "Pitch" magazines. Most of them are marked, covered with stickers and graffiti. In the winter of 2020, I was taking pictures on Mass. Street and came across one of these "Pitch" boxes with a name tag on it. It caught my eye and I thought it was interesting because usually, the stickers people put on those boxes are brands or other logos. The thing that struck me about this and made me photograph it was that the name tag was empty. No one had written anything in the blank space. For me, this photo represents a period of my life when I didn't know who I was. I didn't know what I wanted to be or what I wanted to do with my life. I was in a constant state of feeling lost. I found that art is my way of coping with struggles that I am going through and my work reflects that in every aspect. Title A name given to the resource Isolation Subject The topic of the resource LibArt 2022 Description An account of the resource Isolation, was created following the aftermath of the coronavirus and the loss of the Artist's roommate to alcoholism and depression. Capturing the street that the two used to live on, the piece resembles the effects of a mudslide, the destruction, and irrevocable impact left behind in its wake symbolizing that of living through a friend's suicide. Splotches of plaster can be seen thrown onto the canvas in frustration as many emotions were expressed through the creation of this work including but not limited to, grief, anger, joy, and isolation.
