I insert myself into the composition to embody the space between violence and revelation, connecting Gentileschi’s depiction of empowered resistance with Caravaggio’s portrayal of divine calling. The red glitter flows through both narratives, symbolizing blood, transformation, and the emotional intensity of reclaiming power. Each layered piece of paper reinforces the idea that identity is not singular but built through tension, struggle, and reflection. By blending these two Baroque masterpieces with personal symbolism, the collage becomes a visual statement of resilience, purpose, and the ongoing process of self-discovery. Presenting the head itself displays a sense of drama with the viewer only seeing from the perspective of the headless dog. The rest of the scattered shapes are from the body of the animal, but close into the head as if it was a source of light. The saturated colors make the eyes pupil clear with showcasing it's direction to the far left, staring off from the viewer's presence. This represents how our companions can vision their own world differently than we do and reaching to expand upon that worldview. Two recognizable animals of an owl and shark come into view with a sense of movement happening in their body language. The three minor figures blending in the background represent humanity's engagement with nature throughout history. The feminine face establishes a motherly aspect since she keeps these animals near her in the frame. The crumbleness of the cave and lower area of the face present losing bits of nature throughout time as issues of climate change continue to rise.
