Iconography "towers toward the blue" by interacting with the sky in various ways. Examples of this includes a volleyball player reaching up to hit a volleyball; the KU flag waving in the sky; graduation caps being thrown into the air; newspaper being thrown up during a basketball game tradition; a student reaching up for a book; a dog reaching up for a TPE student; etc. Thus, the design captures multiple aspects of KU, from sports, to academics, to traditions, to KU symbols, and more. This mural concept is for a room that is used by KU Student Ambassadors, so the goal is to both honor the student experience and excite future students visiting the Jayhawk Welcome Center.
