Title A name given to the resource Aztec Afterlife Flight Attendant Subject The topic of the resource LibArt 2025 Description An account of the resource For this piece, I created an inventory for a character I made up based around Aztec mythology. This character is a flight attendant, bringing souls to the afterlife in the Sun. I was inspired by the gods Huitzilopochtli (hummingbird) and Quetzalcoatl (feathered serpent), who both are gods of the sun and afterlife. Throughout the designs of the objects, I have included symbols and imagery from Aztec mythology and culture; reincarnation into hummingbirds, traditional foods and drinks, clothing and patterns, and style of rendering. Title A name given to the resource Glacé Subject The topic of the resource LibArt 2025 Description An account of the resource This work explores a scenario where a cold, dark abyss is partially shielded from view by a frozen wash, enticing the viewer to try and look beyond the obstruction. Our frame of view is often skewed in ways that lead to our own self-sabotage when we push our feelings down or to the side and wait for them to come back and affect us later. Returning to strong feelings after a long period of avoidance can often be an excruciating experience filled with new tinges of confusion and foggy memories. I wanted to make a complete, cohesive mix-and-match set. Each piece has elements that tie with the rest of the rings, but also a unique personality to match the finger it’s placed on. The abstract metalwork is meant to challenge what some would call traditional abstract art (usually 2D). Title A name given to the resource The Existence of a Fish Subject The topic of the resource LibArt 2025 Description An account of the resource I recreated the three main components of the existence of a fish: the two physical aspects of the flesh and bone, paired with what I pictured the physical manifestation of the soul would look like. The three forms are on a rivet, meaning they spin out and can stack. The fish skeleton is cut out, so the soul or body can be seen through the other side when flipped. This mimics the predictability of the beginning and ending of life. The familiar stages of one’s existence: as one stage of life ends, the next begins, and the cycle inevitably continues. The kinetic concept of the trinity of a fish, the body, bone, and soul.
