The German title is "Werk ohne Autor" which translates to "Work Without an Author." This film follows the lift of art student Kurt Barnert as he moves from East Germany to West Germany in hopes of creating art without restrictions and finding a better life. Kurt is looking at his best work at the new art school in this scene, and it highlights the moment he has his artistic breakthrough and is finally content with the art he creates.
