The park surrounding Castello di Miramare near Trieste has many openings within the foliage from which a playful glance at this beautiful castle can be stolen. Originally built by an Austrian archduke, the castle seems at home in the North of Italy.
Beyond the symmetry or suddenness of this mountain, what appeals to me most is its almost friendly gaze as it watches over the surrounding countryside. Its soft slopes emit a sense of safety and comfort not typical of other mountains.
