Description
In this piece, I wanted to capture the dark emotions of someone going through a grieving period in their life. The depiction of the woman shows her hooded in dark colors and hands reach out, grabbing at her. This symbolizes the feelings of depression, anger, and loneliness that people fall into as they are grieving the loss of a loved one. The use of a darker palette with small accents of reds and yellows represents the fading happiness of grieving individuals as they succumb to feelings of isolation. The purpose of the painting was to have a piece of art that people could relate to as they go through the painful and long process of grieving a loved one.
