I sketched this work when I was facing mental health issue. Therefore, I made a kind of artwork that relates to my emotion. I put emoji, and the characters with three different kinds of language for emphasizing my personal identity.
Inspired by the stone itself, this piece is an interpretation of connecting with your origins. For this character, her origins are of water and rock, partially unknown to this world. It is never too late to reconnect with your roots.

This work was made in late December for my on going project titled "Hometown". The title of the work "Retention" is derived from the fact that this image was made possible by the still retention pond in this new development I was exploring.
