Description
Created in response to the overturning of Roe v. Wade, this piece confronts the interference in women’s reproductive rights. The background is composed of long-winded birth control warning sheets while a central pomegranate, a symbol of fertility, is encircled by a golden halo. Male hands, clumsy and forceful, tear into the fruit, spilling its staining juice and scattering its seeds. The violent peeling reflects the destruction of bodily autonomy, evoking the fragility of reproductive rights and the consequences of their dismantling.
