Fay Moulton: 1904
Fay Moulton became the first athlete with KU ties to compete at an Olympic game in 1904. Moulton graduated from KU in 1900 and Yale law school in 1903. He won a bronze medal in the 60 meters and placed fourth in the 100 and 200 meters at the Athens game. Moulton won a silver medal in the 100 meters in 1906 in what is now considered an intercalated games instead of an official Olympic games.
After graduating from Yale, Fay Moulton worked Kansas City. He served as a part-time coach for the KU track team in 1904. Moulton is credited with helping to make the 1924 Kansas Relays a success by encouraging students to attend.
