The Dr. Marlene Mawson Scholar Series was established through the generous gifts of former University of Kansas professor and administrator, Marlene Mawson. Known as the “Mother of KU Women’s Athletics,” Mawson also served as president of the North American Society for Sport Management from 1997-98. The Scholar Series serves as an opportunity to bring established scholars from the field to share their knowledge and experience with the KU campus. Scholars take part in undergraduate and graduate level classes and conduct a lecture that is open to the public.
