Each year I give my family a painting to bring in the new year. 2024 was the Year of the Dragon. I chose gold because it was a special year and a celebration because we would welcome our daughter that year.

While 2024 was the year we welcomed our daughter it also held a place of sadness because we lost the matriarch of our family the previous year. I chose gray in juxtaposition to celebratory gold to represent this heavy loss to our family.
