“The Lightbox” is about creating a communal space for people to interact with. My Lightbox integrates the use of a large space meant to be interacted with in the physical world. While the Lightbox is a model made of foamcore, it represents the importance of spaces made for social gathering. When making this piece, I imagined the space as a gateway or stopping point within a park for people to rest and gaze at the lush green sights surrounding them. I also thought of my piece as a connecting point between two buildings, like the connecting point between Marvin Hall and Chalmers but with steps that continue through the passage.
