This painting depicts a representation of my younger self, reinvented in the image of father. The inspiration for this painting came from a photograph of my father standing barefoot on top of the roof of his first house here in the U.S. Hence I replaced my fathers figure with "myself", hovering and not completely grounded, as I am also wearing his clothes and carrying his feet, seen along with additional symbols such as the swaying white napkins. This concept stems from my experience with my unfixed identity, the burden of not belonging, and feelings of unfamiliarity and separation.
