Volleyball

Volleyball was an original sport under the WAA in 1912, although there are no records or photographs documenting the early years.  It was not until 1975 that it became a varsity sport. Like the other sports, funding for travel and lodging was inadequate in the early years, so the team had to participate in fundraisers to meet those needs.  Since 1975, the team has made it to 11 post-season national tournaments. 2015 marked the best season in KU Volleyball history.  The team made it to the semifinals of the NCCAA tournament.  There have been nine All-Americans and eight conference players of the year.
